The Ryedale Crisp Packet Project is a group launched by Pickering residents to make survival blankets for the homeless. This is done by ironing waste crisp packets together between sheets of plastic.
Following a successful trial, we are delighted to announce that XANDOR Automotive will be supplying the group with the plastic needed for the outside of the blankets. This is waste plastic that comes wrapped around deliveries on pallets that would usually be taken away for recycling.
By donating some of our waste plastic to the group, we enhance our environmental performance through reusing rather than recycling our waste plastic, whilst simultaneously helping the most vulnerable in our community.
The Ryedale Crisp Packet Project were invited onto BBC Radio York to talk about their work and the support from XANDOR Automotive.
